•This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) in Yuma, Arizona is currently looking for a primary care physician.
Position Information:
The Healthcare System places great emphasis on the delivery and continuity of patient care. The Primary Care Staff Physician provides direct patient care to the Veteran population full time and works as a member of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). A PACT Team is patient centered, interdisciplinary in nature, and comprised of a team of healthcare providers.
Duties:
PACT Physician provides comprehensive care to a panel of adult patients, from young adult to elderly. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Works seamlessly with other health care team members to support VA quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
Provides direct patient care to optimize patient health including ordering diagnostic testing, prescribing medication including contraceptive medication, consulting with specialty services, and utilizing computerized/electronic medical records.
Provides patient care in accordance with professional standards, core values and commitment to service excellence.
VA Yuma Clinic (Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) Information
The VA Yuma Clinic is an outpatient clinic that provides primary care and specialty health services, including audiology and speech, mental health care, physical and occupational therapy, telehealth, women’s health services, and more. It is a part of the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) which comprised of the Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona and seven other Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Casa Grande, Green Valley, Safford, Sierra Vista, Yuma, Northwest, and Southeast Tucson.
Requirements:
US Citizen (with a possibility of considering non- US Citizens per VA Policy)
Must have an active and unrestricted license in any of the US States
Doctor of Medicine or osteopathic medicine
Residency Training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine in any of the US States
Work Schedule:Four 10-hour shifts between Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
