Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, in Tacoma, Washington, is seeking a board certified/board eligible, fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join a practice of three established surgeons and one nurse practitioner. Mary Bridge is an 82-bed level II Pediatric Trauma Center with a dedicated pediatric emergency department and a 15-bed PICU with ECMO capability, as well a 70-bed level IV NICU. Construction of a new standalone hospital building is currently underway, anticipated to be complete in 2024.Thiswill be located across the street from the current hospital, which is co-located with Tacoma General Hospital. With this position, we will be expanding our current community outreach by staffing a new clinic located in Puyallup. This facility will be a 50,000 sq ft clinic space including a large general pediatrics practice, other subspecialists, and will feature 5 exam rooms with Zeiss microscopes, two with Storz endoscopic imaging capability, as well as a fully-equipped audiology booth with full staffing during ENT clinics. Surgery occurs in two outpatient surgery suites, as well as in the main hospital operating rooms. Four days of clinical activity per week are expected, with 2 days of OR each week. Pediatric-only call will be 1:4 to 1:5, with coverage also contributed by pediatric and other specialists from Madigan. A nurse triage line covers incoming calls from worried parents after hours, while two dedicated clinic RNs provide support during the day. There is ample opportunity to engage in teaching activities with medical and nurse practitioner students, as well as otolaryngology residents from nearby Madigan Army Hospital/Uniformed Services Residency Program, who rotate at Mary Bridge for part of the year. Clinical research opportunities are available; the MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation, formed in 2010, is the largest community-hospital-based research center in the Pacific Northwest, and is currently engaged in more than 200 clinical trials. Compensation is highly competitive and utilizes a base salary plus productivity model, as well as patient quality and administrative bonuses. Vacation is accrued at the rate of 5 weeks/year.
