POSITION SUMMARY
Partner with educators, families, and communities to provide impactful learning environments and a range of services for students who demonstrate difficulties with hearing

CONTRACT LENGTH
193 days annually

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and/or sustain an effective hearing screening program that meets the unique needs of the building/school, including diagnostic testing and ongoing hearing services, when needed
2. Collaborate with school and AEA teammates to conduct evaluations and design interventions, accommodations, IEPs, IFSPs, and 504s to meet the unique needs of individual students
3. Complete required paperwork (e.g., audiological reports, IEPs, and IFSPs) in a timely and professional manner
4. Supervise and collaborate with audiometrists to ensure consistency of services
5. Foster and/or sustain relationships with school personnel and parents through timely and effective verbal and written communication
6. Collaborate with school personnel to determine appropriate hearing assistive technology; monitor/troubleshoot effectiveness
7. Advocate for students and serve as a liaison between schools, families, and other agencies
8. Engage in ongoing professional learning to ensure hearing services are current and supported in educational research
9. Contribute to internal and external teams established in the name of service to member school districts
10. Recognize and embrace the confidential nature of student and family data and information
11. Support all Agency initiatives, programs, and goals established in the name of service to member school districts

QUALIFICATIONS
Iowa BoEE licensure with endorsement 235 – B-21 School Audiologist or 254 – Supervisor-School Audiologist

OR

Iowa BoEE Statement of Professional Recognition with current audiology license from the Iowa Department of Public Health
