Assumes responsibility for the overall direction and operational administration of Home Care. Has the authority and responsibility for the functions and activities of the agency. Responsible for the employment of all qualified staff and provides leadership, direction, and supervision of the staff. Responsible for compliance with local, state and federal rules, regulations, certification and accreditation programs.
Plans, directs, coordinates and monitors the delivery of all direct and indirect services to home care clients
Participates in the organization’s strategic planning activities.
Plans and develops the structure, clinical and administrative policies/procedures and the annual operating/capital budgets.
Establishes and implements systems to inform clients and their families of the scope and nature of home care services and community resources.
Maintains liaison relationship with attending physicians.
Review admission criteria for new clients and evaluates eligibility for home care benefits.
Conducts monthly review of records to ensure continuing home care client’s eligibility for covered services.
Implements and evaluates the onboarding for new employees.
Provides direction and resources to assist in continuous improvement of services provided by the staff.
Ensures clinical records are maintained in compliance with state and federal laws including Medicare standards and conditions.
Identified systems to recognize client needs, respond to client needs and measure the outcomes of interventions. Utilize the data to provide direction for improvement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Registered Nurse, or
Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist or
Holds an undergraduate degree. Master’s degree preferred.
Has training and experience in health services administration, and at least 3 years (5 years preferred) of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health care program.
Demonstrated ability in/or application of organizational/ communication skills
Must have comprehensive knowledge of Home operations; ability to work independently with a high level of motivation, initiative and leadership; good interpersonal skills in negotiation, employee relations and management of human resources; ability to interpret regulations governing Medicare/Medicaid and third party reimbursements.
