The Faculty and Instructional Design Manager is responsible for overseeing all issues relating to faculty affairs and education instructional design within the Center for Programs in Allied Health (CPiAH). This role includes both administrative and technical responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong academic/ faculty management and instructional design background within a post-secondary higher education environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage day to day operations of faculty affairs within CPiAH
Direct point of contact for all program staff and faculty
Conduct faculty classroom observations for all ground and distance education courses
Review and distribute course evaluations to programs
Conduct on ground faculty trainings and professional development, as needed
Serve as CPiAH Distance Education Administrator
Conduct blended and online faculty trainings and professional development, as needed
Schedule and track completion of quality metrics for all faculty both on ground and blended modalities
Monitor, track, and respond to all aspects of academic integrity
Administrative liaison for curricular review committee
Administrative liaison for faculty and program meetings
Participate in Program Advisory Board Meetings
Participate in budget preparation, as needed
Participate in New Faculty Onboarding
Participate in Student graduation ceremonies
Assist program faculty with curricular management
Provide support for faculty to develop, manage, and assess initiatives for the improvement of teaching and learning
Maintain a variety of electronic files and databases for the purpose of providing accurate and complete information
Compile data and metrics for processing requests and preparing reports, as needed
Maintain electronic faculty files including, but not limited to, current faculty development plans and licenses/ certifications
Provide classroom management and support, as needed
Design and develop innovative educational content and eLearning courses based on knowledge of the latest learning methodologies
Help maintain the integrity and functionality of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Help maintain the software, hardware, and media equipment inventory for the education team
Train faculty on educational best practices and use of the LMS
Perform project management tasks for ground, blended, and online courses
Participate in team strategic planning to ensure alignment and attainment of education team goals and objectives, as well as, enhance communication between the education team and program faculty
Write and edit content using multimedia development tools, software, and hardware
Facilitate and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
Assist with developing and revising education team policies and procedures, as needed
Consult with faculty and teams on effective learning strategies, course design, outcome testing strategies, and development planning
Participate in CPiAH process improvement initiatives
Coordinate ongoing faculty assessments, reports, and surveys
Effectively communicate with administrators and faculty/staff
Participate in a process of continual personal and professional improvement
Demonstrate knowledge and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations, such as the Department of Education, Accrediting agencies, (i.e. FERPA, ADA, etc) and internal VUMC policies and procedures
Effectively communicates compliance requirements to faculty and other staff, as appropriate, and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Director of CPiAH
Effective use of the Campus Management System
Attend CPiAH and other Professional Meetings, Trainings/Workshops, Conferences, as applicable
Provide additional administrative duties and support, as assigned or requested
(Shift) Monday-Friday 8:00am -5:00pm CST; flexibility to work additional hours is a must!
