Develops lesson plans to meet the unique needs of Middle School academic students who are deaf/hard of hearing. Ability to assess student progress, develop IEP goals to address skills that need to be developed. Provide instruction to students based on the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia with an emphasis on language development and communication
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
PA State Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Genuine interest to work with children with sensory disabilities. Must be proficient in American Sign Language and have in depth knowledge of amplification and cochlear implants. Ability to collaborate with teachers and therapists who serve the students. Ability to establish rapport and appropriate relationships with students and their families. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters and student records.
