In your pivotal role as Program Manager, you will plan, develop and execute ongoing program(s) that impacts a significant segment of the organization under occasional guidance.

Performance Elements- In your pivotal role as Program Manager, you will:
1. Plan, develop and oversee programs and events in order to meet established program goals, objectives and timelines
a. Determine content and details for programs and events.
b. Research trends and recommend strategies to promote continued change, growth or expansion of the events and programs.
c. Serve as VUMC/VICTR liaison with other institutions to develop and organize programs and events.
2. Develop and oversee program and event marketing
a. Work collaboratively with internal and/or external partners to determine what marketing and promotional efforts are needed and creates a marketing budget.
b. Ensure quality, consistency and effectiveness of all marketing communications.
c. Acts as liaison/point of contact for programs and events by answering inquiries, providing information and addressing concerns.
3. Plan and lead the execution of programs and events
a. Develop overall logistical plan.
b. Develop program/event timeline.
c. Negotiate and monitor agreements for procuring services and purchasing supplies and equipment.
d. Maintain appropriate documentation necessary for funding sources.
4. Program and event budgetary management
a. Create event budget based on historical data, monitor expenses, develop and disseminate communications, determine staffing levels, and manage administrative operations (e.g., program assistants, venue event planners, etc.).
b. Ensure that programs and events are executed on or under budget.
c. Monitor expenditures and makes purchasing decisions throughout the program or event.
5. Program Improvement
a. Perform QA reviews of the program.
b. Conduct program evaluations including survey creation, data collection, and analysis.
c. Build data collection tools in REDCap and prepare summary of results.
d. Serve as primary point-of-contact, develop/update SOPs and Best Practices, prepare and conduct related trainings, and provide ongoing support for Citrix Online, program's web conferencing tool.
e. Serve on the program SOP committee.
6. Administrative Leadership
a. Direct program administrative operations, including program assistants, temps and students, as needed.
b. Organize calendar and schedule support staff for weekly program meetings with ability to step-in and cover teleconference support needs for absent PMs when necessary.
c. Organize and facilitate the various types of submissions related to institutional regulatory offices.
d. Organize and systematize the preparation of annual reports, research/educational grants, and manuscript editing.
e. Edit and facilitate manuscript submissions, as well as create and maintain research and citation libraries.
f. Provide program management coordination for national initiatives involving large recruitment efforts.

In collaboration with the VUMC Human Research Protections Program (HRPP), the Translational Research Navigator II assists with the optimal application of the Federal, State, and local laws, guidance documents, VUMC Institutional policies, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures while meeting the objectives of the VUMC research community. Consults on complex research and regulatory issues in conjunction with the team(s) to identify solutions and develop improvement processes. The TRN II researches topics of departmental, institutional or strategic importance.
