Job Summary : Works within the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health Education and Training team on the creation, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of international programs, events, and services. Provides supervision and management of projects, team members, and partner institutions. Manages Program Operations: Oversees day-to-day operations of the VECD program, which includes faculty, staff, and trainees at 4 domestic institutions and 17 international sites in 14 countries, as well as a network of >900 alumni Develops, revises, and communicates program guidelines to 17 international sites and 20-30 VECD trainees per year (primarily PhD- and MD-level fellows from the U.S. and LMICs) Develops and facilitates online seminars and other recurring events for trainees, site leaders, and program staff and faculty Creates and maintains standard operating protocols Assists with forecasting annual budgets and scopes of work for each trainee Represents VECD at domestic and international conferences and workshops, includes domestic and international travel Assists with post-award management, including establishment and management of subcontracts (~30/year) Works with Senior Program Manager and Principal Investigators on financial and programmatic reports to funding agencies Writes grant and contract proposals to develop additional funding sources Fosters and maintains effective working relationships with domestic and international partners and organizations Manages project and program documentation in an efficient and organized manner Takes responsibility for finding solutions to issues that arise and effectively communicates resolutions to all parties involved Maintains the highest level of responsiveness and service in all communications Independently manages workflow to achieve and maintain excellent performance standards Compliance and Process Improvement: Creates and implements monitoring and evaluation plans for ongoing projects Gathers and analyzes feedback from program participants, including domestic and international VECD trainees, international site leaders, and other program staff and faculty Ensures human subjects training and other ethics approvals are obtained in accordance with NIH and VUMC policies, including advising trainees and sites on Institutional Review Board approvals Conducts ongoing process improvement/quality assurance analyses and prepares reports for study teams and funding agencies Works with funding agency to recommend, implement, and evaluate program changes Event Management: Develops, facilitates, and assists with logistics and execution of events in the U.S. and at international sites, including the annual orientation event at the NIH for all VECD fellows, international workshops, Manages, directs, and supervises supporting event/meeting personnel Plans and adheres to event budgets and reviews expenses within VUMC and Federal guidelines Negotiates contracts with providers/suppliers in accordance with VUMC and Federal guidelines Minimum Requirements : Bachelor's degree or the equivalent and 3 years' experience required. This position will include travel (including international travel) up to 10% per year to represent VECD at conferences, plan and execute domestic and international conferences and workshops, and perform site visits as needed.
