Position Summary: Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking an AuD level Audiologist within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. The Mayo Clinic has a strong institutional emphasis on outstanding clinical service and has a rich history of innovation in audiology, otology, and neurotology. The ideal applicant should be board certified/eligible in audiology. They should be a clinician with a strong background and experience in diagnostic audiology and audiologic rehabilitation (e.g., hearing aid related services). Additional experience is welcome in cochlear / middle ear implantation services, and vestibular assessment and rehabilitation. Duties include direct patient care in an adult-based audiology clinic with an accomplished team of audiologists and physicians where there is an emphasis on advancing the art and science of hearing and balance health care delivery through clinical research and evidence based practice.
Responsibilities: Responsible for administering diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology Tests. Diagnostic testing will primarily include audiological and immittance assessments, with the opportunity for vestibular assessments, otoacoustic emissions, and evoked potentials. Rehabilitative services will primarily include hearing instrument recommendations, selections and fittings. Some opportunity working with cochlear implants and treatment for Benign Paroxysmal Positioning Vertigo may be available.
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in Audiology required. National certification in Audiology (Obtained by passing a national examination and completing one year of supervised clinical work) required. Florida State License in Audiology required. Two to three years of work in Clinical Audiology preferred. Audiologists must complete 30 continuing medical education credits every two years. On the job training depends on the Audiologist's professional experience.
Additional Qualifications: Audiologists within Mayo Clinic practice 90% direct patient care. However, the department participates in Research protocols. Must demonstrate computer skills with respect to spreadsheet capability but also for ease in adapting to the automated clinical record.
Exemption Status: Exempt Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,420.80, based on a full-time position. Hours/Pay Period: 80+ hours as a salaried exempt professional
