As the internship coordinator and a clinical educator in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Western Washington University, you will be responsible for indentifying internship sites and developing quality internship experiences for speech-language graduate student practicums, while ensuring professional standards and experiences across the lifespan and disorder types. You will plan, administer, monitor and evaluate internship/externship coordinating services, including managing contracts. You will work collaboratively with faculty and staff in maintaining accreditation of the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program. As a clinical educator, you will educate, prepare, and supervise speech-language pathology graduate students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, and in the development of related interpersonal and professional/technical skills. You may also provide direct services to patients, demonstrating clinical skills for undergraduate and graduate CSD students.
As a member of an interdisciplinary team in Western Washington University’s Speech and Hearing Clinics, you will also provide direct professional speech-language pathology services to individuals with communicative disabilities. Develop habilitation or rehabilitation programs for individuals and monitor/evaluate client progress. You may also teach clinical courses as necessary and per areas of expertise. You will report directly to the department chair and clinical director.

A master's degree in speech-language pathology;
A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA);
License to practice speech-language pathology or ability to acquire from the state of Washington;
Experience as a clinical supervisor;
And, three years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, including experience with both diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
