The Teacher of the Deaf is responsible to the Co-Directors of Clarke Schools for hearing and Speech in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a contract position and the hours are 8:30 am – 4:00 PM. The classroom may have as many as 5-8 children with hearing-impairments. The classroom teacher will be responsible for classroom activities and one-on-one audition, speech and language work as a cooperative teacher working with the Speech and Language Pathologist and Co-directors
•The Teacher of the Deaf position requires an educational background and experience in early childhood education, training in auditory/oral education of hearing-impaired children and/or experience in parent counseling is preferred. •Master’s degree in Education required •Master’s degree in Education of the Deaf preferred. •Florida certification is necessary.
